More about Sainte Foy

Worth knowing

There are two villages with the St Foy name. St Foy Tarentaise is a small village down in the valley, whereas St Foy Station is the ski resort, both have their charms but just make sure you know where you're choosing. Having a car is beneficial to explore the rest of the valley or visit the old town of Bourg St Maurice on those down days. Alternatively if you're arriving in Bourg by train, then the resort can be reached by a quick transfer from one of the local companies.

Family friendly ski area

Sainte Foy maintains a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere that sets it apart from more commercialised ski resorts. The village features traditional Savoyard architecture with chalet-style buildings constructed using local stone and wood3. Children can enjoy supervised ski lessons, a "Little Trapper" Kid's Club, and fun tree-lined paths with small jumps1. The resort offers a perfect balance between challenging ski terrain for adults and safe, enjoyable areas for younger skiers, all while maintaining an intimate, community-oriented environment.

Hidden gem for powder enthusiasts

Sainte Foy is a remarkable ski resort in the Tarentaise Valley, an exceptional skiing experience for those wanting uncrowded slopes and pristine powder. Located between 1,550m and 2,620m, the resort has a compact ski area with 41 km of slopes and six lifts that provide access to extraordinary off-piste terrain. Unlike its more famous neighbours like Val d'Isere and Tignes, Sainte Foy remains a relatively undiscovered destination that attracts passionate skiers and snowboarders looking for authentic alpine experiences.

Charming village and snowy microclimate

Sainte Foy boasts a special microclimate that ensures consistent snowfall and excellent snow quality. Located at an elevation of 1,550m to 2,620m, the resort benefits from northwest-facing slopes that hold snow exceptionally well16. The village maintains an authentic Savoyard character, with traditional stone and wooden chalets that preserve the area's alpine heritage. Unlike crowded mega-resorts, Sainte Foy offers a intimate, relaxed atmosphere that attracts discerning skiers seeking a more genuine mountain experience
